About the Artist

Hi! I’m Newara, and I’m thrilled to introduce you to Kuleana Co.

Kuleana Co. is a one-woman show that embodies my deepest passions — the ocean, my form of creative expression, and giving back to people and planet.

When creating designs, I draw inspiration from my upbringing on Hawai'i Island, using the shells and sea glass that I often found wash upon the shore or under the sea.

About

The Hawaiian word Kuleana translates into "responsibility." For me, this responsibility translates to ourselves, to one another, and to our environment.

From intentionally sourcing from small vendors, investing in plastic-free packaging and the use of natural materials in my wrapping, I am weaving responsibility into Kuleana Co. In addition, a meaningful portion of sales from this shop will go toward supporting Maui Lahaina Fire Recovery.
